About Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN)

The Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN) was founded in 1981 by Sister Ann Weltz with a vision to support parents in crisis by providing safe, short-term residential care for children. BACN’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, offering free, confidential services that allow families to focus on resolving emergencies. As the Bay Area’s only crisis nursery, BACN serves families facing poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, and health challenges.
