The Pat Burgess Team is not only committed to finding the perfect home for their clients, they are committed to investing in the neighborhoods they serve. Whether it be through volunteering for local or national organizations, coordinating community events for local families, empowering women to collectively work together and raise funds for charities in need or volunteering their time for the betterment of the local community, The Pat Burgess Team makes it a priority to give back.
Leading the team and setting the example of the importance of giving back is Pat herself, who from a young age has volunteered her time for the betterment of others. Her charitable and volunteering efforts span a lifetime with some of the most notable being her time at the Ronald McDonald House after college, traveling with her son to Mexico to help build homes for the poor and her development of “The Children’s Water Foundation” in Ghana through her Church. The impact that each of these experiences has had on her has lasted a lifetime and is the foundation for why it is so important for The Pat Burgess Team to continue serving the community.
Melanie is the proud founder of SonRise Equestrian Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs through the healing power of horses. Driven by her passion for making a difference, she helps provide hope, joy, and connection to kids and their families. With a life full of dogs and horses, Melanie’s deep commitment to animals and their ability to inspire others is at the heart of everything she does.
Melanie is proud to support Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, a remarkable organization dedicated to giving senior dogs a second chance at life. Passionate about animals, Melanie not only contributes financially but also opens her heart and home to adopt senior dogs that others overlook. Muttville’s mission to provide love, care, and dignity to older dogs aligns perfectly with Melanie’s commitment to making a difference for animals in need.
Pat and Melanie are passionate supporters of Youth Homes, an organization dedicated to helping foster youth, especially those aging out of the system—a critical need few others address. They actively participate in fundraising events and donate a portion of proceeds from every affiliate transaction to support Youth Homes’ mission. They also host live auction dinners at Melanie’s ranch, with meals crafted by her chef husband, the former owner of Gianni’s Italian Bistro, to further raise funds for this important cause.
Melanie is proud to support CalPaws K-9 Rescue, an incredible organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need. Actively involved in fundraising efforts, she helps provide the resources necessary to save and transform the lives of these deserving animals. CalPaws’ commitment to giving every dog a chance at a better life inspires her ongoing support.
The Burgess Team is proud to support Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center, an inspiring organization that changes lives through equine-assisted therapy. To aid their mission, they provide live auction dinners hosted at Melanie’s ranch, featuring meals and evenings crafted by her chef husband, the former owner of Gianni’s Italian Bistro. As the founder of SonRise Equestrian Foundation, Melanie’s passion for helping kids and connecting them with the healing power of horses makes this cause especially close to her heart.
The Pat Burgess Team is dedicated to supporting local families in need through their partnership with the Food Bank. Their efforts include donating significant amounts of food and funds to ensure no family goes hungry. The team also volunteers their time approximately four times a year to pack and sort food, directly aiding in the distribution process and making a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve.
Collaborating with Rise Against Hunger, The Pat Burgess Team has participated in several impactful food-packing events. Together with the Danville-San Ramon Rotary Club, they have packed over 100,000 meals, providing essential nourishment to individuals facing food insecurity worldwide.
The Bay Area Crisis Nursery, an organization devoted to supporting infants and toddlers in need, holds a special place in the hearts of The Pat Burgess Team. They have organized extensive drives to collect diapers and baby food—last year alone, they were able to collect four truckloads of diapers for children in need.
Rotary is a huge part of Pat's life. Our motto is “Service Above Self” and we work tirelessly to make this world a better place both locally and around the world: food drives, clothes drives, building schools for the less fortunate, working with the local schools, supporting our Troops overseas, eradicating Polio…the list is endless. Pat is proud to have been the President of the Danville-Sycamore Club as well as the Community Service Chairperson for several years and Membership Chairperson.
Pat started “Divorce Angels” after personally going through a crushing divorce. She promised God that if she made it through, she would help others. This is such a debilitating experience. It is hard to know who to turn to for the right answers. “Divorce Angels” is made up of a group of professionals who volunteer their time monthly to provide practical solutions to tough questions. These professionals include an Attorney, CPA, Financial Planner, MFT Therapist, Home Organizer, and Mortgage Broker.
Pat is honored and humbled to be a co-founder of Impact 100 East Bay, an amazing group of talented women who are making an extraordinary impact within our community, focusing on the unmet needs within Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
Helping our local community is of the utmost importance to Pat. She loves the town of Danville, so several years ago she got involved with the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce. Pat was asked to sit on the Board and more recently was named Chairman of the Board.
