The Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA), is done every eight years. The State projects each region’s housing needs for all income groups. For the upcoming cycle in 2023, the State has determined that Danville must provide approximately 2,241 new homes.
This is going to be a significant challenge because the Town does not have a large inventory of vacant land or lands that are primed for redevelopment. Throughout the summer they have been hosting meetings to discuss this important issue and the last forum is on September 18 at 10 am.
